There are times in your life when you read something that completely shifts your paradigm. Lynn Beisner’s Blog did just that for me. I have read and heard many stories of why someone is so lucky their mother didn’t have an abortion or mothers who were glad they didn’t choose abortion. These mothers are deemed a “good person” for their decision.
Lynn Beisner’s “I Wish My Mother Had Aborted Me” was difficult to read. I had to read it several times and do a lot of soul searching before I could even discuss it with close friends. It took me a while to come to terms with how I felt. I am in awe of Lynn’s courage in writing the piece and thank her for opening my mind and heart to a new way of seeing a subject I thought I understood.
My hope in sharing her piece with you is that you have conversations with your friends, family and others here…whether you agree with Lynn or not. This is how we begin changing the conversation in this country to be more accepting of all of our differences.
